Attention Community Partner:

The 2008 Historic Triangle Neighborhoods Conference, “Monumental Possibilities:  Capitalizing on Collaboration,” is to be held at Warhill High School in James City County on October 10th and 11th, 2008. Hundreds of citizens from James City County, York County and the City of Williamsburg will unite to learn how they can take an active role in enriching our community.

The conference will begin Friday evening with dinner and a “conversation on the porch” from keynote speaker and national author, Phillip Gulley, author of “Porch Talk: Stories of Decency, Common Sense and Other Endangered Species.” Mr. Gulley received an Emmy in September 2007 from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for his “Porch Talk with Phil Gulley” series on Indiana’s PBS affiliate Channel 20. The 2008 Neighborhood Awards will also be presented. On Saturday, interactive workshops will move participants through exercises in leadership, neighborhood building, youth/adult partnerships, asset mapping and community problem solving. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade will attend a civic engagement track.

Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your business to this diverse group of neighborhood leaders, youth, non-profit and government staff. Please review the conference’s sponsorship package and a conference representative will contact you soon.
